Cancelled Date

So it's already March. I don't know if it was because February has only 28 days that it seemed to end so fast or I just got so busy with my work and my family. I was supposed to have a date with my two friends whom I haven't seen for a couple of months now. We intended to spend the whole day chatting and catching up with our lives but my youngest daughter intervened again.

Just right after we finalized our gimmick for Saturday, my Mom told me that Cien's temperature seemed a little strange. Immediately I took our digital thermometer and indeed, she has a slight fever. And that's about it.

I texted my two friends that if my daughter's fever won't be gone by the following day, I have no choice but to cancel our date. They said they understand and said will wait for my message early in the morning. Cien's fever remained to be 38 at around 5am, and since I am already awake by that time, I officially cancelled our supposed to be girl bonding (sad).

Once again, the mommy-in-me rose up, that even though my Mom assured me that she can take care of my daughter and that I can still go, I said no. I can't afford to have fun when I know that my daughter is not feeling well, I want her to be as lively and happy as she was in these pictures when I leave her and go out for a gimmick:

Mommies out there, what do you usually do in situation like this? Care to share?

Getting My Hands Into Digiscrapping Again

Pardon my creation if this looks like more of a collage but actually it's another example of a quick page template. There was just a single vacant slot, the one at the top photo with what seemed to be frames and boarders. I just couldn't help to post several other photos in it because I wanted to include all my daughter's shot during her second hair cut.
Honestly, I feel like I'm a newbie once again in this kind of craft, starting again with easy quick templates, settling for simple dragging of photos.. But I know, as soon as I get my mind "Into the zone" again, I'll be doing much better than this.

Milestones at 9 months

Journalling:

My tiredness is being swept away whenever I see my cute, chubby and bubbly Cien Riley! At 9 months she can now sit without support, can wave bye-bye, can say dada ( that's what she calls her Daddy ) and Jeje ( when she calls her Tito Jay ) and the word "Ish" ( meaning "alis" ) when she wants to get out and just sit in the porch of my mom's house. She now have two front teeth and another two on the lower part with another one attempting to come out. For her diaper we use the same size for her and her sister, to avoid further confusion on their sizes lol!

Cien Riley at 9 Months

Journaling:

Last Friday, my daughter Cien Riley turned 9 months and as usual we celebrated it with a small get together. Hubby went home early so he could buy cake from Goldilocks. Unfortunately, when he dropped by at the nearest branch from our house, it was closed. He tried to check out the other branch in Taytay, it was open but they only had few items for sale. The cashier told him that Goldilocks were on strike and that explains everything.

Well, anyway, we later on found other bakeshop near our place and we settled for their available cake. To cut the long story short, Cien still got to blow her cake for her monthsary.

A Sumptous Lunch at KONBINI STORE

Been to North Greenhills this afternoon, but nope, not to go shopping but to visit Cien's Ninang. She had been inviting us since last week to drop by her house and its just today that we got the chance. We didn't brought Ciren and Erin, so its just Daddy, Mommy and Cien's day-out.
on our way to Greenhills..
She asked us if we had our lunch already and hubby told her that not yet, but we won't be staying too long because we left the other kids at my mom's house. She told us that we were just going to grab a lunch together with her daughter so off we went up to her car, and just a few minutes we've been cruising the Greenhills Shopping Center .. she asked her daugther where she wanted to eat, we passed UCC Coffee but she preferred the Japanese Restaurant beside it , the KONBINI STORE. It was my first time to dine in there, and since we were just treated by Cien's Ninang, she ordered the food for us. We were just four, her daughter, me and hubby plus Cien but she ordered a lot! as in the food can't fit on the table that we occupied. Just the appetizer alone was enough but the waiters kept on placing food before our eyes.

Flash Effects

I was looking at the pictures I took last Saturday and I was amazed by the effects of the flash to the pictures below. As I try hard to know and learn more about  photography, one thing that comes in my mind when taking pictures ( im only using a P&S camera*sad*), as per my boss' advice who also fancy photography, If im aiming to shoot a subject which is against the light, i should use the flash, to eliminate having a shadowed and dark result. But I know such advise is very simple and basic compare to those who'se really into photography especially using DSLR camera, but it helped me achieved a nice-to-look at pictures.

Searching for a more reliable explanation on how i came out with these photos, I found one at Wikipedia. Comments and reactions to this post will be greatly appreciated specially from those who are into Photography.

Cien Riley's 6th Monthsary

How time flies, my youngest daughter, Cien, turned 6th month last Saturday. She was born on the 12th of June, that her dad almost gave her the name “Independencia” LOL! At her age, she got two lower teeth, a milestone for her because as her pediatrician told us, she has an advanced development. Even before she turned 5 months, she was allowed to take solid foods, like Cerelac and mashed veggies and her first tooth came out during those month too. Hubby was still at the office when we took pictures of her special day. We had “pansit” and half roll cake for meryenda that we shared with some relatives. ( my mom always complained of why we always buy cake during her monthsary, for according to her that was not practical enough because those cakes stayed for almost 2 weeks inside the ref unconsumed!LOL! )She was sleepy during our picture taking, that’s why most of her pictures had that pouty look. When the sun came down, we went out for a chit-chat with my tito’s and tita’s who were sitting outside. Ciren and Erin had their playtime. Running around here and there, making my voice hoarse because of the frequent shouting like, “don’t go there!”, don’t touch that! Careful! Hayzz, KIDS!

Up and Awake Again

And I'm back! yep! that power nap really got me off my feet, oh well, I really had to get up since the call of being a nursing mom is here again. For almost six months now I've been breastfeeding my youngest daughter Cien Riley, same goes with her two siblings before. So for almost every 4 to 5 hours I have to stay a bit longer at the comfort just to do my pumping sessions =). My boss even joked about having his coffee whenever he sees me with my " paraphernelia " ( feeding bottles, my manual pump and "lampin" ), he said he'll ask for some creamer from me, haha! Everyday, before going home I make sure that I have some "abubot" for Ciren and Erin as my pasalubong. For Cien here is what I have for her:=)

Playful Baby

Cien, my youngest daughter, woke up early this morning with a loud shriek. I thought she was crying so I got up from my sleep and checked on her. I found out that the shriek was accompanied by her giggles. She was playing with her brother, who was sleeping soundly. She kept on reaching his face and every time her fingers touched his nose, he moved away. Maybe, Cien thought that his brother was playing with him too. It looked cute, if only Erin won’t wake up if I turned the lights on, I would have captured it on video.. That scene took away my “antok” and made me get off to bed early. It helped though, as I arrived early in the office today and spared myself from being late again.
